– Combined, the three prospects have more
than 60 years of experience, and each has dealt with a panoply of
issues - ranging from delicate balancing budgeting, to job stimulation,
to capital improvement projects, to enticing businesses to small
towns.
"(Any one of them) can easily walk into the office and effectively,
and with confidence, take a leadership role," said town administrator
search committee chair James Ehrhard.
For the second time in two months, a trio of candidates are up for
scrutiny by selectmen.
Two are new - but one will be a familiar face when he interviews
with the board this month.
John D'Agostino, most recently town manager in his hometown of Mansfield,
is up for review a second time, having been picked as a candidate
in the last round. He is vying for the position with current Ayer
town administrator Shaun Suhoski, as well as William Sheridan, a
public works director and chief administrative officer in Laurel,
Montana.
The process to find a replacement for longtime town administrator
James Malloy has been drawn out for several months now - but officials
are hopeful that it might finally be nearing its end.
"I'm confident that the board of selectmen will choose from
one of these three candidates," said Ehrhard. He added that
the process “needs to come to some level of finality.”
