Dangerous weapon arrest

At 1:14 a.m., Officer Daniel Hemingway was on duty while he observed a pair of vehicles driving fast on Route 15 toward Route 131.
Radar confirmed they were speeding at 49 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone. By the time police caught up with the vehicles, they were in front of the Publick House.
The driver of a gray Nissan was identified as 40-year-old Daniel Thomas O’Connor of 8 Progress Ave., Dudley.
The officer observed O’Connor’s eyes to be bloodshot and detected the odor of alcohol. The driver also had an open package of Bud Light. O’Connor reportedly said he’d had his last drink almost two hours prior to being stopped.
He performed a sobriety screening poorly, according to the report. He then agreed to a portable breath test and scored .12 , four tenths above the legal guideline.
After being taken into custody, O’Connor tried again on the certified breath test and scored a .11. He was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and speeding in violation of special regulation.
Also, because a double-edged “boot style” knife was found in his glove compartment, the charge of carrying a dangerous weapon was added. (10-10)

Three women summonsed for brawl

At 4:52 p.m., police received a cell phone call reporting a fight at the 1738 House at 489 Main St.
According to the report, a pair of 25 year olds, Stephanie L. Mitchell of 35 Prospect St. Apt. 1, Webster and Patty A. Mitchell of 3 Third St., also of Webster, drove to Sturbridge to pick up their nine-year-old niece.
Upon arriving, an accusation was made that led to 39-year-old Laurel Robidoux allegedly pushing the nine-year-old out of the way to attack the other women.
Meanwhile, the husband tried to intervene, eventually separating the parties before Officers Hillary Dadalt and Larry Bateman arrived.
Because the altercation was not witnessed by police the three women were summonsed to face misdemeanor charges of assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and affray. (66)
