Dangerous weapon arrest
At 1:14 a.m., Officer Daniel Hemingway was on duty while he observed
a pair of vehicles driving fast on Route 15 toward Route 131.
Radar confirmed they were speeding at 49 miles per hour in a 25
mile per hour zone. By the time police caught up with the vehicles,
they were in front of the Publick House.
The driver of a gray Nissan was identified as 40-year-old Daniel
Thomas O’Connor of 8 Progress Ave., Dudley.
The officer observed O’Connor’s eyes to be bloodshot
and detected the odor of alcohol. The driver also had an open package
of Bud Light. O’Connor reportedly said he’d had his
last drink almost two hours prior to being stopped.
He performed a sobriety screening poorly, according to the report.
He then agreed to a portable breath test and scored .12 , four tenths
above the legal guideline.
After being taken into custody, O’Connor tried again on the
certified breath test and scored a .11. He was charged with operating
under the influence of liquor and speeding in violation of special
regulation.
Also, because a double-edged “boot style” knife was
found in his glove compartment, the charge of carrying a dangerous
weapon was added. (10-10)
Three women summonsed for brawl
At 4:52 p.m., police received a cell phone call reporting a fight
at the 1738 House at 489 Main St.
According to the report, a pair of 25 year olds, Stephanie L. Mitchell
of 35 Prospect St. Apt. 1, Webster and Patty A. Mitchell of 3 Third
St., also of Webster, drove to Sturbridge to pick up their nine-year-old
niece.
Upon arriving, an accusation was made that led to 39-year-old Laurel
Robidoux allegedly pushing the nine-year-old out of the way to attack
the other women.
Meanwhile, the husband tried to intervene, eventually separating
the parties before Officers Hillary Dadalt and Larry Bateman arrived.
Because the altercation was not witnessed by police the three women
were summonsed to face misdemeanor charges of assault and battery,
disorderly conduct, and affray. (66)

Early morning assault and battery
At 5:03 a.m., police received a 911 call reporting belligerent voices
in a Heritage Green apartment.
The caller reported a door slamming and a man standing in the hall
with a vodka bottle.
Sergeant Michael Cloutier, along with Officers Pamela Desplaines
and Ronald Obuchowski responded to find 24-year-old Seth M. Goudreau
of 11 Moon St. 1, Southbridge and a woman with red teary eyes.
Goudreau was observed to be unsteady on his feet.
Police also observed a pair of small children inside the apartment.
According to the report, the woman had asked Goudreau to leave after
he pushed her up against a wall.
Instead, he began yelling and banging on the door. He also yelled
at officers after they arrived. Goudreau was taken into custody
and charged with assault and battery, disorderly conduct, and disturbing
the peace.
The Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.

Five offenses in one stop
At 8:27 p.m., Officer Hemingway was parked at the Pilot station
on Route 15 when he noticed a gray Nissan with one license plate,
back in for gas. When pulled over, the driver was identified as
27-year-old Sophan Yin of 51 1/2 Branch St. Lowell.
Yin was found to be driving with a suspended license, without insurance,
in an unregistered vehicle and with a number plate that was not
registered to the car.
Yin said that his girlfriend had recently purchased the car. Yin
was arrested and charged with five violations and the car was towed
and impounded. (403)
